Meet Snickerdy Rabbit and her sister, Snickerdy Blue - they are my latest rabbits from a pattern by Veena in the US. They are both made from cotton fabric, painted white and stained with coffee for a primitive/vintage look.
Looking at the photos on my site, I have realised I tend to make 'happy' looking primitives, and there is something just a little sad about these rabbits. They kinda remind me of illustrations of the Velveteen Rabbit in a book I had as a child.
Since finishing them the other night I find that I keep picking them up and giving them a little squeeze. I find them so appealing! They really do look like dolls from a bygone era...
